Leadership in business calls for ‘closeness to business reality”, to provide most value to the organization and the team. That means, knowing bigger picture of the business and its key levers, ability to predict even in VUCA situations, having mitigation and contingency plans, keeping calm when threatened and acting at the right time, building strong support team and being agile. Aspiring business leaders steadily build these competencies and drivers. In addition, leadership today demands greater application awareness on topics like UX, Design thinking, Agile working, Employee engagement, DEI, Digital fluency etc. A close look at all competencies will point us to the fundamental project management mindset. Honing project management competence and mindset is the way to become a successful business leader.
About the speaker
Venu comes with a professional experience of 32 years across MNCs, PSUs and R&D establishments. He built high performance teams through purpose & value driven culture, strategy, strong focus on P&L, leadership development and organization-wide change management. His areas of experience include setting up Global capability centers, building up entrepreneurial ventures, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, organizational change management and Business advisory. In the business areas of IT, Telecom, Energy and Mobility, Venu held senior leadership positions in India and Germany, and managed engineering teams in North America, China, South Korea and Japan. Venu was Vice President of Bosch Ltd in his last position. He is a co-founder of ProminentMind, a new age boutique consulting firm focusing on Business advisory, Leadership development and Operational excellence. He is an ICF-PCC certified Leadership Coach, member Senate IITDM Jabalpur, NASSCOM Mentor for start-ups and visiting faculty in premier B-Schools. He is passionate about entrepreneurship, driving innovation and developing leaders.
