Overview

PMI Bangalore India Chapter is proud to announce its 14th Annual Project Management Conference in Bengaluru. The focus of the conference this year will be "ARCHITECTING PROJECT MANAGEMENT for embracing disruptions...”

Project Management Practitioners' Conference (PMPC) is organized every year by PMI Bangalore India Chapter. PMI Bangalore Chapter is the largest PM chapter in India. PMPC is the largest and most popular Project Management conference in Bangalore. PMPC demonstrates the Chapter's commitment to serve the professional community with a structured knowledge-sharing platform.

Every year, the Chapter selects the PMPC theme after intense brainstorming and deliberation with industry experts and advisory board members. While the focus of last year's conference was on how project management helps in transforming human lives, this year's theme will highlight how project management helps in value creation.

“Disruptions” - in technology, in how work is done and managed, in every facet of our daily lives, you name it and disruptions is galore all over the world. With this comes its own intricacies, nuances and challenges of management. Right from managing technology to people’s expectations at work place, customers expectations of what and how their needs will be fulfilled by business entities is a real and live. Agility, Analytics, Big Data, and Blockchain have made inroads into every industry, and have become an integral part of the professional landscape.

Project management professionals must ride the ripples and waves that these disruptive forces create. A flexible mindset, willingness to embrace the changes of disruption and most importantly the deftness to adapt and learn from the environment is the key to ride high on these waves.

This edition of PMPC - “Architecting Project Management for .... Embracing Disruptions” will bring you successful stories of how individuals and organizations have embraced disruptions at their workplaces. These insights are grouped into three categories – Digital Transformation, Sustainable Development and Exploring the Unexplored.

  • Digital Transformation. Digital Transformation is a novel way of solving traditional problems by adopting technology. Traditional working methods have been disrupted in ways unimaginable by embracing digitalization. Right from ordering food sitting in a public park to transferring funs to the other end of the world, digital transformation has disrupted conventional and traditional businesses at the very fundamental level. New theories, ground rules and management techniques are evolving on this journey due to digital transformation.

  • Sustainable Development. Sustainability is about how organizations manage financial, social and environmental risks to ensure that their business continues to operate regardless of obstacles. Sustainable development needs to focus on both short-term initiatives and long-term strategies. Disruptions in the market place brings its own set of challenges to these sustainable development plans. Organizations need to be innovative in factoring the impact of these disruptive forces into their strategies to ride the waves of this disruptive trends.

  • Exploring the Unexplored. Competency development, both individual and institutional is a critical factor for successfully embracing disruptions. New skills, new processes, re-engineering existing processes, capacity building, are some of the proactive measures that successful organizations have implemented as they move on to manage the disruptive forces. Experiences of how capacity building strategies have been developed, implemented and managed to survive the disruptions will add value to the knowledge sharing amongst the delegates.
