Overview

PMI Bangalore India Chapter is proud to announce its 11th Annual Project Management Conference in Bengaluru.

The focus of the conference will be "Enterprise Agility..." which resonates with the mood of the industry. Agility is no more a virtue but a means of existence. In today's world the project managers have to deal with extreme time pressures and the need to adapt to the market before other organizations could. The activities of the entire organization focuses on gaining a small window of advantage over the competition to maintain market leadership.

This calls for,
• A Lean and Agile Organization
• Product and Service Strategies based on an understanding of the users
• Use of Technology to understand and reach out to the clients
• Adaptive workforce that keeps pace with the market

The conference aims to provide a platform for Project Management Practitioners, Senior Leaders and other stakeholders across industries, government, NGOs and academia, to exchange ideas on the challenges and opportunities in building, nurturing and sustaining Enterprise Agility.

In todays' fast paced and turbulent business environment, sensing changes and responding with equal speed is proving to be a critical factor for success. Thanks to social media and aggressive marketing, market developments and fast changing technological advancements influences customer's decisions. Due to this fast pace of development and short-lived expectation of the market, the time available to respond to changes has drastically reduced.

Organizations should be agile to sustain market leadership irrespective of their size, constantly evolve product and service strategies within a short time to market, and supported by market-oriented innovations based on fundamental research. The Trained workforce must be abreast with the developments in the industry and enabled with implementation of technologies that minimizes time between data collection, analysis and decision making that support organizations to respond to market situations. The technology also needs to move away from conventional data from forms to data from unstructured market sources like the social networks, IOTs etc.

Project Management Practitioners' Conference 2016 (PMPC 2016), hosted by PMI Bangalore India Chapter, will focus on various facets of the Project Management practices that have been or will be a game changer in achieving enterprise agility.

To leverage the learning for the benefit of the project managers community, papers on various relevant sub-themes are invited from project management practitioners, academicians and experts in various domains. PM Enlight – An Introduction

In an increasing complex and dynamic work environment, the need for a professional guidance and support tuned to an individual's profile and aspiration is more profound than ever before. It transcends the boundaries of formal training and workshop and focusses more on building a trusted mentor-protege relationship where the protege benefits from the experience of the mentor.

Acknowledging the relevance of such a service for its core member constituents and the PM community at large, PMI Bangalore Chapter had introduced a Mentor forum in 2015 at PMI National Conference, In continuation of that initiative, a similar forum is being organized in Project Management National conference, 2016.

Keeping in tune with the theme of this year's PMP conference "Architecting Project Management for Enterprise Agility", mentoring session with Industry experts will be offered in the following tracks:

  1. Track 1: Managing Career in VUCA environment
  2. Track 2: How to become Agile Transformational Leader
  3. Track 3: Strategic Skills for effective PMO Leader
  4. Track 4: Career Choice as an Intrapreneuer/Entrepreneur

At its best, mentoring can be a life-altering relationship that inspires mutual growth, learning, and development. Its effects can be remarkable, profound, and enduring; mentoring relationships have the capacity to transform individuals, groups, organizations, and communities. Research has consistently found mentored individuals to be more satisfied and committed to their professions than non-mentored individuals.

This initiative received an overwhelming response in its pilot launch last year and we are very hopeful that this year's track with the galaxy of mentors will elicit similar interest from the conference delegates.

Organizer's Views

Shilpa Gnaneshwar

Conference PMO Leader

Dear Practitioner,

It is my great pleasure to announce the Project Management Practitioners' Conference 2016. The chapter has a decade of experience in organizing project management conferences, including the PMI India National Conference in 2011 and 2015. I'm sure that the learning's from the previous conferences coupled with the fresh ideas, passion and vision of our veteran team of passionate volunteers, will make this conference a wonderful experience for you.

As always, a lot of thinking has gone into arriving at the theme for this conference. In todays' fast paced and turbulent business environment, sensing changes and responding with equal speed is proving to be a critical factor for success. Due to this fast pace of development and short-lived expectation of the market, the time available to respond to changes has drastically reduced. And hence, we thought "ARCHITECTING PROJECT MANAGEMENT for enterprise agility..." is the most relevant and apt theme for the conference.

Our conferences have always drawn visionaries, industry leaders, policy-makers, thought leaders, and project management champions. We have always strived to meet delegate expectations in terms of the quality of speakers and discussions, as well as knowledge sharing and networking opportunities. This year, too, all efforts will go in to make it an enriching and elightening experience for all stakeholders.

Looking forward to see you!

Shilpa Gnaneshwar
